Tassie Luxury

Tasmania has long attracted fly fishers unafraid of the long journey and eager for something different.  (Phil Monahan wrote about it in MidCurrent several years ago in “Down Under the Land Down Under.”)  But according to Australia’s The Mercury, you won’t be staying in the same lodges where Eric Clapton and Ian Botham went to fish if more than several hundred dollars a night scares you off.  “The Lodge is booked on an exclusive, sole use basis and $5000 a night gets you between one and four bedrooms, all meals, selected drinks and an opportunity to fish with a guide or soak in a cliff-top hot tub.”
