Patagonia: “Don’t Buy This Jacket”

An advertisement in the Black Friday edition of The New York Times—filled with tantalizing offers and uncommon deals—described all the reasons why readers should not buy a jacket.  And it was run by the jacket’s manufacturer: Patagonia.  As the ad says: “We’re now using the resources of one-and-a-half planets on our one and only planet.” It’s a clever way to call attention to the company’s Common Threads Initiative, whose mantra is “Reduce, Repair, Reuse, Recycle.”
