Fishing Partners Lost in B.C. Trip Tragedy
A fly fisher drowned and his female fishing partner, who tried to save him, is feared lost after the man fell into the Cheakamus River while on a guided fishing trip Saturday. According to Mike Hagar of the Vancouver Sun, rescue teams ended the search for the missing woman yesterday. “University of B.C. hydrologist Younes Alila said the area where the two went missing is prone to higher river flow. ‘That’s an area where – with this sort of cool summer – we could still have quite a bit of snow lingering at higher elevations.'”
