Podcast: Preparing for a Day on the Water

May 24, 2011 By: Marshall Cutchin

Tom Rosenbauer’s latest podcast includes a suggestion that green may be the best color for a parachute fly, notes on reel seats, and an explanation of how experience anglers get ready for a day on the water.

“Tip Number Two: Check the river flows.  There are flow charts on all the Orvis fishing reports if there is a USGS gauging station and look and see if the water is dropping, if it’s a tailwater is the water pulsing, but find out what the flows have been for the past few days.  Some places you can call and find out what sort of water releases they expect, if you’re on a tailwater.”
