Dick Finlay Dies

Dick Finlay, a long-time Orvis employee who also worked for Fly Fisherman magazine and helped start the American Museum of Fly Fishing, died on January 17.
“Dick was a protector of the rivers of Vermont, especially the Battenkill River. He received several awards for his dedication to these rivers including the Watershed Award, presented to him by Governor Douglas in June of 2008 for ‘significant efforts contributing to clean water in Vermont,’ and a special thank you for years of leadership and stewardship of the Battenkill.” From the Manchester Journal.
