Book Review: "The Long Slide"

The narrator in Blair Oliver and Peter Soliunas’s detective novel The Long Slide is a bamboo rod aficionado and his friend is a “muckraking environmentalist.” Together they live and work in a Colorado mining town where the “curative” waters are tainted. The Long Slide is packed with ideas, but its serious themes of family and heartbreak are leavened with an eccentric supporting cast worthy of a Coen Brothers movie, not to mention an occasional gunfight.”
