Dog Swallows Sixteen Barbed Fishing Flies

After reading about Deborah Carlson’s bug-obsessed German shepherd getting into her fly supply last week, I feel a little less guilty about the $225 trip to the vet to have a Dave’s Hopper removed from my puppy’s lower lip (I also had not crimped the barb).
“The scans showed 15 flies had made it through the dog’s throat, stomach and intestines and were ‘on the home stretch.’ The 16th fly was never found. Frieda ended up passing all 15 flies without problem.” Eric Barker in the Lewiston Morning Tribune.
