Two New Sock Lines from SmartWool

PHD Outdoor Light

Ever since trying out SmartWool‘s line of merino wool socks a few years ago, we decided they were as good for fishing as they were for hiking and biking.  In 2011 they’ll introduce two new lines of socks that make a lot of sense for anglers.

There are two models in the Hunting line:  the Light Over-the-Calf ($22.95), and the Extra Heavy Over-the-Calf ($24.95).  Both models employ SmartWool’s WOW Technology™ (wool-on-wool) in a reinforced sole for comfort and durability.  They also feature SmartWool’s Fit System with arch and ankle support, a flat knit toe seam, and strategic mesh zones for maximum ventilation.

PHD Outdoor Light Crew

There are three new models in the PHD Outdoor line.  A Light Crew ($19.95), a Medium Crew ($21.95), and a Heavy Crew ($22.95).  Each model has a 4-degree fit system for  an all day performance fit, and WOW Technology™.  The SmartWool inside allows for moisture, temperature, and odor control.  They also have a duroyan reinforcement for added comfort & durability.  Like the Hunting models, the each of the PHD Outdoor socks  has strategic mesh zones for maximum ventilation.

You can buy SmartWool socks online at or from your local retailer.
