It’s been a couple of years now since a film version of David James Duncan’s novel The River Why was announced to the press, and still no movie (see “William Hurt to Star in “The River Why“).
If you need a fix and live in the Seattle area, check out Myra Platt’s stage adaptation of the book at the Center House Theater at Seattle Center, running through March 7.
Seattle Times reviewer Misha Berson says it’s “limited in metaphorical import,” but “16 hours a day with rod and reel in hand, ‘The River Why’ is not to be missed.”
