Chester Allen ties so many flies to the tune of Christmas jazz that he can’t help but hear Dean Martin and The Vince Guaraldi Trio while casting flies in heat of summer. “Last winter, I tied most of my Iris Caddis – the best fly to drop onto the water when the fish swirl for caddis flies during the midsummer – while listening to Dean Martin Christmas records.
