Costa Del Mar™ Starts 2009 Early with Caballito and Howler Sunglass Debut
Two New Sunglasses the First of 14 New Styles Coming in the New Year
Daytona Beach, Fla., – Dec. 5, 2008 – The year might not quite be over, but that didn’t stop Costa Del Mar™ from announcing the first two of its 14 new sunglasses to launch in 2009. Caballito and Howler are the first of the 2009 sunglasses line to appear on retail shelves and online at www.costadelmar.com by the end of December, with the remaining 12 new products launching throughout the year.
Caballito invokes a ‘retro surfer’ look, with a hard rectangular shape and thicker temple design. It’s available in shiny tortoise and black, and later in 2009, a combination white and black, all built with nearly indestructible nylon frame, flexible integral hinges and no-slip Hydrolite™ nose pads.
Howler is Costa Del Mar’s reinvention of its classic Deep Blue frame, giving an old school favorite an updated-yet-still-retro-cool look. Its wrap shape provides superior peripheral protection from glare, dust and wind, making it a top choice for avid outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers. Howler’s stainless steel spring hinges allow this sunglass to comfortably fit a variety of medium-to-large size face shapes, and like Caballito, features no-slip Hydrolite nose pads for a “forget-they’re-on” fit. Frame colors include shiny tortoise, black, and new in 2009, driftwood.
Both Caballito and Howler are available in the full array of “Costa clear” 100 percent polarized CR-39 or glass mirror or non-mirror 400 lenses, including gray, amber, sunrise, vermillion, blue mirror or green mirror. For high-definition vision, the sunglasses also come in Costa’s unparalleled 580 lens technology – what some dub the best lenses on the planet – available in gray, copper, blue mirror, green mirror or the newest silver mirror option.
“2009 is already shaping up to be our biggest year yet, with 14 new sunglasses coming out, and several new frame colors and updated features for many of our popular existing frame styles,” said Chas MacDonald, president of Costa Del Mar. “Caballito and Howler, the first two of our 2009 sunglasses, look to be classic styles that will appeal to a wide variety of adventurers.”
Both Caballito and Howler retail from between $129 and $219, depending on lens choice, and are available in retail outlets and online beginning in December 2008.
