Pangs of guilt may have prompted the Bonneville Power Administration to hire “bounty fishers” to cleanse affected waters of northern pikeminnow, which takes advantage of the presence of dams in the Columbia River Basin to decimate salmon populations. But according to this article by Associated Press Writer Jeff Barnard, the “sport reward fishery” is not all fun and games. “‘There’s been problems with people where they want to fight over spots to fish. I mean bad enough to get the police involved. I’ve actually had my life threatened,'” said bounty fisher Tim Caldwell.
