Matt Grobert ties an Isonychia Nymph, also known as the Slate Drake Nymph. These insects are an important food source for trout in most eastern U.S. freestone streams and rivers. Vincent Caffarra authored the pattern several years ago.
Nice bug, where can you get that blend of dubbing.
We blend the rabbit ourselves – 2 parts claret or wine, 1 part each of black and chocolate brown. It’s really quite easy to do and worth it the effort to get the right color. When wet, the color closely mimics the real thing.
