  • The Bonefish & Tarpon Trust’s “Fix Our Water” initiative aims to engage anglers and the fishing industry in efforts to revise Florida’s water management practices and begin restoration of the Florida Everglades. For more information and to take action, visit the BTT website.
  • Ted William writes about utilizing the Endangered Species Act to help grayling recovery efforts, proving “the ESA works best as a motivator for reform rather than a punishment for violation.” Read more via Nature.
  • Kris Millgate reports on the success of Bonneville cutthroat restoration projects. “The efforts are working so well, Bear Lake isn’t stocked with Bonneville cutthroat trout anymore and in 2015, wild fish outnumbered hatchery fish for the first time.” Via Hatch Magazine.
  • Anne Shaffer, a marine biologist with the Coastal Watershed Institute, talks with Brian Clark Howard about the impact and importance of the Elwha dam removal in this interview via National Geographic. “It was really surprising to us how fast things changed. We have seen an increase in good habitat by about a hundred acres (40 hectares) and an immediate response in the fish community. We found new species coming to the area within weeks of the dam removal starting.”
