Join us for the River Stewardship Gala!

Colorado TU’s annual River Stewardship Gala is just around the corner – on the evening of March 13 at the Arvada Center. The Gala is our largest event of the year, celebrating Colorado’s rivers and helping to raise funds for their conservation. This year, we will be honoring Richard Adkerson and Freeport McMoRan for their leadership and support of abandoned mine restoration projects – helping to restore habitat and water quality for Colorado streams impacted by the legacy of historic, long-abandoned mines throughout our mountains.

The Gala features a full sit-down dinner, complimentary beer and wine, a varied live and silent auction, and the chance to enjoy an evening with other conservation-minded anglers and river enthusiasts. You can make your reservations – for individual tickets, or for a group table – by clicking here.

As you read this issue, you’ll find that we have much to celebrate for Colorado’s rivers. Southwest Colorado’s Hermosa Creek now enjoys strong watershed protection thanks to bipartisan legislation passed by Congress. The Forest Service has taken action to help protect habitat including cutthroat streams in the Thompson Divide area. Partnership efforts with agriculture on the lower Gunnison will benefit from a major new $8 million grant. And with your help, we hope soon to see Browns Canyon protected as a National Monument.

Thanks for making these successes possible through your support and involvement! I hope to see you at the Gala on March 13th.

Sincerely,

David Nickum, Colorado TU Executive Director
