Tippets: Field to Fly, North Dakota Pipeline Spill
- Matthew Copeland recently wrote a great piece on making use of every part of an animal, going from the hunting field to the tying desk. “Even though it’s little more than a symbolic gesture, there’s a certain satisfaction that comes with carrying a bit of that animal around with me on the water.” Via Stalking the Seam.
- A rupture in a pipeline in North Dakota has spilled an estimated 3 million gallons of saltwater. The Blacktail Creek, Little Muddy Creek and the Missouri River are all being monitored for impacts. The saltwater is the result of oil and natural gas production and may also contain petroleum and residue from hydraulic fracturing. Via The New York Times and NRDC Switchboard.
