Tippets: Rebooting With Reels, Bridge from Spawning
- Owner of Bozeman Reel Company Dan Rice is featured in a recent article on Outside Magazine, on rebooting and changing your career. From an aviation background, Rice bought Bozeman Reels in 2013. “We’ve grown ten times beyond what the brand was doing before the acquisition. For now we want to prove that our product is functional and reliable. We need to get people to trust us. Then we’ll start innovating and turn the reel business on its head.”
- New research published in the journal Nature points to an ancient fish that lived in lakes about 385 million years ago in what is now Scotland, to be the bridge from spawning. “We have defined the very point in evolution where the origin of internal fertilisation in all animals began,” says lead author on the recent study, John Long, from Flinders University in Australia. “That is a really big step.” Via the BBC.
