G.Loomis expands its PRO4x Rod series

From G.Loomis:

With long ‘switch-style’ handle allowing anglers to fish either single or two-hand, G.Loomis further expands its PRO4x series with three new ‘Long Hand Predator’ 9-foot fly rods. They are ideal for a broad range of saltwater action, in Alaska for salmon, for big bass, plus you can ever ‘figure 8’ them for northern pike and muskies.

Three new ‘LHP’ rods are being offered, all designed to easily cast today’s heavy, shorter, more aggressive fly lines with large bulky flies. Sizes include a 9/10 weight – PRO4x 1089/10-4 LHP FR – for use with 375- to 425-grain fly lines; a 10/11 – PRO4x 10810/11-4 LHP FR – for 425- to 475-grain lines; and a 12/13 weight for 500- to 550-grain lines – the PRO4x 10812/13-4 LHP FR.

According to G.Loomis’ chief rod designer Steve Rajeff, “the two-hand handle configuration reallyhelps when casting heavy lines with big flies and wire bite tippets, lessens the effort needed and also reduces fatigue – plus it also increases leverage for fish-fighting control – much needed when chasing big fish.”

As with the other PRO4x fly rods, the series is a line-up of “high-performance rods that both experienced and novice anglers will appreciate the lightweight feel and speed,” Rajeff said. “The Long Handle Predator rods feature a powerful stiff tip to avoid tailing loops, while the longer handle makes for easier stripping and plenty of hand grip room for lifting power.”

The PRO4x LHP fly rods – as with all G.Loomis rods, are manufactured in the USA. For more information, visit gloomis.com, call 800/GLoomis, or visit your nearest G.Loomis dealer.
