Cheeky Fly Fishing Names Ted Upton as New CEO

Arlington, MA – Cheeky Fly Fishing is excited to announce Ted Upton as its new Chief Executive Officer. Upton is a member of the founding group at Cheeky Fly Fishing and has run and supported the Company’s operations over the past four and a half years. Upton will succeed Scott Caras, who will remain involved in Cheeky Fly Fishing as an owner and member of the Board of Directors. As CEO, Upton will manage all of the Company’s day-to-day operations as well as lead strategic growth initiatives at Cheeky Fly Fishing.

“I’m very excited about the opportunity to lead Cheeky Fly Fishing. It’s been incredible to see the Company grow over the past four and a half years. With new product launches and other strategicinitiatives already in the pipeline for 2014 and beyond, I am confident the Company will achieve new levels of success,” said Upton. Most recently, Upton graduated from the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he studied business management with a focus on operations and entrepreneurship.

As part of the transition, the Company has relocated its headquarters back to the greater Boston area, where Cheeky Fly Fishing was founded in 2009. The new office is located at 26 Dudley Street in Arlington, MA and will open in mid-June. Upton invites fishermen to visit the new office, “If you are in the area, we’d love to have you stop by to check out the reels and talk fishing!”

Additionally, in order to accommodate its fast-paced growth, Cheeky Fly Fishing has hired Grant White as Associate Business Manager. Formerly of The Orvis Company, White will support the Company’s day-to-day-operations as well as help create and drive strategic opportunities at Cheeky Fly Fishing. White will be joining the team in Arlington in mid-June.

“Cheeky Fly Fishing is primed for some exciting growth,” says former CEO Scott Caras, “and Ted is the perfect guy to take the Company to the next level.” Caras will continue to support Cheeky Fly Fishing while he pursues a role in business development at Escalade, Inc. “This marks a major milestone for the Company and something that we as founders are really proud of and excited about,” says Caras on the transition and move.
