Painted Beetles

Of the 1.2 million to 1.5 million insect species that have been described, explains Dana Jennings, about 400,000 are beetles. French painter Bernard Durin highlighted this proclivity in his book Beetles and Other Insects, which presents intricate imitations of beetles painted from the collection at National Museum of Natural History in Paris.
