The Greenbacks: 1 of 750

Thanks to recent breakthroughs in genetics science, research discovered that of the six distinct lineages of cutthroat trout in Colorado the most rare, the greenback, is extant in only one wild population in Bear Creek just outside of Colorado Springs. With only 750 fish remaining, The Greenbacks group of Trout Unlimited has started a campaign to help with habitat restoration, increase the population, and reintroduce greenbacks to remote areas throughout their native range. Check out the project and ways you can help on the 1 of 750 website.
