The Story of Crazy Charlie
Many flies have stories attached to them, and the staple of every bonefisher’s box, the Crazy Charlie, is no exception. John Frazier highlights the legendary go-to fly along with the man who designed it, Charlie Smith, who says of his work: “It’s because my fly doesn’t look too fancy or too pretty; it always looks rough and I keep it like that. I could make it fancy and pretty but I’m not selling; I just tie and give.” Via Fly Fishing in Salt Waters.
