  • Ending a 200-year history, the last fish hook maker in Redditch, England has hung up its tools. Founded in 1974 by Vince Green, Sprite Fish Hooks has had a very successful and proud run of almost four decades, and will be remembered as carrying on the legacy started in the town at the beginning of the 19th century.
  • Recent removal of a 7-foot dam on Bear Creek in the San Francisco Bay area has opened up six miles of water for its population of steelhead, which are listed as “threatened” under the 1997 Endangered Species Act.
