  • Quill Gordon of The View from Fish in a Barrel Pond, reflects on the “ways of both people and fish, circa 2012,” and upon the passing of yet another season. Realizing in the end that “the fish are easy. It’s the people I can’t figure out.”
  • With increase in seafood consumption, researchers are turning fish vegetarian for a more sustainable food-choice option, they say.  In a recent PLoS ONE study  the authors write that “domesticated populations of rainbow trout have the genetic potential to adapt to major dietary changes.”

  • Senator Mark Udall joined Sen. Michael Bennet in urging a Senate appropriations committee to consider including supplemental funds to help areas of Colorado hard pressed by this summer’s wildfire season and damaged watersheds in need of restoration.
