Writing on the Water

Writing what you know comes naturally for award winning author, C.J. Box, as he and the main character in his crime novel series, Joe Pickett, share a passion for fly fishing. And in answer to how fly fishing and his writing go together, “A lot of times I will be able to work out a plot point by fishing really intensely and not thinking about the problem, and suddenly I’ll figure out how to get from A to B,” replied Box in an interview with Fly Rod & Reel’s Stephen Camelio, “That happens a lot.”
