Economic Growth Through the Outdoor Industry

Even through the past years of economic downturn, the outdoor industry has continued to grow at a rate of 5 percent annually and is responsible for 6.1 million jobs and $646 billion a year in consumer spending, states a new report released by the Outdoor Industry Association. And Ben Bulis, President of the American Fly Fishing Trade Association, urges Congress to follow President Obama’s initiative in support of funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), saying  “We should all be able to agree that protecting the public’s access to the outdoors now and for future generations is not only common sense, but also the ideal job creator.”
