Tippets: New Fishing Apps, Didymo on the Upper Delaware, New Zealand Sandflies, Craig Thomas White Fly Box
- Angling Trade lists recent fly fishing phone apps , including “Catch Book” by Field and Stream, which allows you to keep a mobile journal of fishing reports, with pictures, that one can (or chose not to) share with friends.
- Unfortunately didymo, or “rock snot,” appears to be thriving on the Upper Delaware River. Extensive mats of it were found along a 40-mile stretch in Northeast Pennsylvania.
- Everyone knows that New Zealand has some beautiful water with huge trout. Beyond that, New Zealand does not have bears, snakes, and some other common “creepy crawlies.” However, the country does have sandflies, which can be quite a nuisance for visitors.
- The Fiberglass Manifesto claims “gear envy” over the Craig Thomas White Fly Box.
