Estate of Billy Pate Auction

The estate of the legendary saltwater angler Billy Pate is holding a personal auction of personal effects.  Among the auction items are rods, reels, thousands of flies, original artwork and photographs that belonged to Pate.  The auction begins at Pate’s Islamorada residence on Thursday, May 17 from 5 pm to 8 pm, with an exclusive preview party of the collection benefiting Bonefish Tarpon Trust for a $25 donation. A public preview will then be held on Friday and Saturday May 18 and 19. The public auction will then get underway beneath a large tent, kicking off at 1 pm that Saturday.

Definitely going to get there. I live up in Ft Lauderdale. If for some reason I can’t make it a close friend will be there with his iPhone and I’ll bid through him. Hope Billy’s wife is there. She’s a treat and love to meet her again. Last saw Billy and she at the Islamorada Fishing Club while having dinner with friends.

Great. There are thousands of flies, lots of fly rods, art on & on & on. You should really come to see it all. There will be pictures up on the web site very soon.
