Video Hatch: “The Giant Mayfly”

BBC’s “Life in the Undergrowth” packed in an incredible amount of info and footage into this four-minute clip.  Highlighting the Giant Mayfly—specifically a hatch on a Hungarian river—the video features trout jumping out of the water to devour massive flies, as well as a lesser-known predator (at least in fly fishing circles): birds.

    beautiful, very interesting video for someone like me who loves salt water and never saw many mayflies at all – I did use a few for bluegill bait one Spring in N. Alabama.
