When I guided Ed Rice in the 1990s, his biggest challenge was holding back a powerful cast.  As Tom Stienstra notes in this morning’s profile of one of the world’s most experienced fly anglers, Rice now fishes now with the knowledge that every day counts.  “‘Big fish are great,’ he said, ‘but in the end, all that matters is your friends, the people you care about. That’s what it all’s really about.'”   In the San Francisco Chronicle.
