New Packs from Patagonia

Sweet Fish Pack

Sweet Fish Pack

Patagonia says that this is the ultimate pack for travel or for angling that requires extended hiking. Ideal for backcountry trout, steelhead, surf or flats fishing, the Sweet Fish Pack is made from an 840-denier 100 percent ballistic nylon fabric with a durable water repellent finish. The pack features a molded drop down front panel with interior fly keeper and two main zip compartments which can hold up to four fly boxes. There is also a top drop-in security pocket, an interior waterproof pocket, and interior hook-and-loop closing storage pockets. The Patagonia Minimalist Mesh Vest front attaches to the front of the pack which will retail for $159 in early 2012.

Stealth Atom Sling

Also coming to the market in early 2012 is Patagonia’s Stealth Atom Sling pack. This is a versatile sling pack that provides functional performance for anglers looking for a vest alternative. It will retail for $89.

if you attach a landing net on the d ring on the pack side, it may be dangerous to pull the bag to the front.

I use a fanny pack from Goodwill in the same style as this, except over my non-casting shoulder.
