Tippets: Trout Town Parade, James Chen, Snake River Dams

July 5, 2011 By: Marshall Cutchin

  • Who do you do if you already go by the name “Trout Town USA” and you are promoted to the “Ultimate Fishing Town?”  You throw a parade.
  • James K. Chen, an associate professor at Stanford University School of Medicine, spends most of his time doing developmental biology (think Smoothened proteins, Hedgehog pathways and Zebrafish).  In his spare time, he fly fishes.
  • World’s largest organization of fisheries scientists says “four lower Snake River dams and reservoirs present a significant threat to existence of wild fish.”
