Simms, said AT editor Kirk Deeter, “ultimately yielded to the demands of customers, specifically dealers, who said they needed felt in the arsenal. ‘It’s ultimately about choices, and allowing customers to make their choices on boots with felt,’ said [Simms director of marketing and brand management Diane] Bristol. ‘We didn’t take this decision lightly, but ultimately it came down to listening to what our customers wanted.’”

Great to see the consumer tell the elites what they want!  Ultimately that is what happens.  No different than the elitists telling you what kind of light bulbs you can use, or what kind of refrigerator you must have, or, we made GM build a clown car that is very expensive that you MUST BUY!  The felt sole notion was stupid from the getgo, and I took that position just like the consumer told Simms their position.  Three states next year will make it illegal to wear felt soles when fishing…Vermont, Mass. and Alaska, and Simms, one of the prime movers of making felts illegal goes back to making felt!..kinda funny.
