The New MidCurrent

After several months of planning and development, our staff flipped the switch on MidCurrent’s redesign this morning.    Our many thousands of news items, stories, features, videos, and podcasts are presented in a more accessible page layout, and we’ve greatly expanded our art and photography galleries, as well as our video offerings.   The new design is our framework for enhanced content delivery and expansion into many more services in the coming months.

When anyone asks what running a site like MidCurrent is like, I compare it to writing a book that is very long — and never finished.   We’re paying close attention to feedback we get on the new site, so please let us know what you like and don’t like, where you think we’ve nailed it and where we need to improve.

Thanks to million-plus readers who motivate us to work 365 days a year and think hard about what makes fly fishing such an amazing sport. It’s a privilege to be on the water with you, even when we’re not there in person.

What did you like better about the old format?

With the old format, all new listings were made explicit. Now, I have to search by topic “Gear, tippets, etc.” to see what new listings there are.

Thanks, Dean. We’re still tweaking, but happy with the response so far.
