Two New Fly Tying Videos

February 22, 2011 By: Marshall Cutchin

We feature two new fly tying videos on MidCurrent this week. First Richard Strolis shows us how to tie his Rock Candy Larva, which he notes is “about as simple as it gets. I was looking for a very durable caddis larva that could be virtually bounced off the bottom of the river, would tie quickly with minimal materials and was streamlined enough to sink to the fish.”
And Michael Yelton demonstrates the techniques for tying a Latex Caddis (using a material that isn’t sold in most fly shops). The Latex Caddis is an easy-to-tie pupa imitation with a translucent, rubbery body that trout find hard to resist.
