Winston’s new Boron III material has had a significant impact on the design of Winston’s newest line of Boron IIIx fly rods.  These rods are lighter, faster, and more responsive, but remain versatile rods with a wide casting range. In terms of action, these rods generate faster line speed than the Boron IIx counterparts that they are replacing, without compromising their coveted smooth and balanced feel.  Made in Twin Bridges, MT, the Boron IIIx MSRP is $755 to $822, depending on model.

G=Graphite, V=Versatile and X=fast action.  This new series of rods uses the same tapers as Winston’s high performance series, yet uses all graphite instead of Boron in the blank.  Like the Boron IIIx, the GVX is made in Twin Bridges, MT, and will retail for $495.
