Kara Armano demos the new Sonic Pro waders from Redington, which will retail for $199.95-349.95 (depending on configuration) when they become available in January.

All three wader styles in this series utilize ultrasonic welding but each has its own unique features. The Sonic-Pro Zip Front and the Stocking Foot Waders have five layers of fabric on the lower legs and seat for added durability, ergonomic hand warmer pockets lined with brushed micro fleece and lazer cut exterior pockets with YKK water-resistant zippers.

The third style in this collection is the Sonic-Pro Wader Pant, which has many of the same features. Instead of a 5-layer system, the pants feature 3-layers to increase breathability while still maintaining durability.

Great to see Redington continuing to bring quality and affordability to the people. I have a pair of zipper front waders by another manufacturer and love them, but they don’t come cheap. Redington’s price point is very attractive, and they’re certainly bringing a lot of great new offerings to the market.

I am really looking forward to picking up a pair of these waders next year. I would like to have seen the hand warmer pockets include zippers as well. I hope they are at least backed by a waterproof material. Either way, they look great.
