“As the old ghillie says: ‘There are two things I like to see in my water; one’s fish, the other’s whisky.’ One of my first teaching instructors was legendary angler Hugh Falkus who advised me to practise with a glass of whisky on my head. When I was able to cast out without spilling a drop, I would know I had mastered the art of fly-casting.”
In the U.K. Telegraph, the BBC News Channel’s Fiona Armstrong (Lady MacGregor of MacGregor) tells why women will always catch larger fish than men — with or without whiskey.
