Fish Art: What's Your Carbon Fin Print?
Former Formula One Benetton team lead mechanic and chief mechanic for the BAR Honda Grand Prix Team, Alastair Gibson combines carbon fiber and discarded F1 parts to make some strikingly different fish sculptures. His brown trout (he calls it the “Racing Brown”) features jaw and mouth details of Inconel 625 welding wire — used on exhaust primary and tailpipes — and floor stays covered with vac ‘heli’ tape — used for stone protection of bodywork and wing leading edges — for the tail. First seen on ThisIsFly.
