Saltwater Fly Fishing: "Advanced Placement"

In saltwater, presentation — placing the fly in just the right spot based on the movement and behavior of fish — is ninety percent of the game. Mudding and actively feeding fish react entirely differently than “laid-up” fish. Fish that are in six inches of gin-clear current require more careful presentations than those blinded by silt or wind.
