April 4, 2007 By: Marshall Cutchin

Fly tier, volunteer guide, reel maker, author, illustrator — John Betts has worn many hats in his lifetime, they all fit him very well. Charlie Meyers writes a nice profile of this modern renaissance man for the Denver Post. “Look closely at the materials in Betts’ vise and you can begin to back-track the finer details of what stands as his enduring contribution to fly-fishing, which is the widespread use of synthetic materials for the construction of flies.”
