Moret Opens New Keys Fly Shop

January 8, 2007 By: Marshall Cutchin

“‘You’ll notice there isn’t a single freshwater fly in this entire store,’ he said, picking a couple feathered streamers out of one of the compartments. ‘We are saltwater through and through here.'” Sandy Moret is moving his well-known Islamorada fly shop once again, this time to a more permament, more visible location in what was the old Green Turtle Inn, which was never reopened after Hurricane Wilma in October 2005. The Green Turtle restaurant will be brought back to life in the new building, and the Redbone Gallery, which sells fishing art to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, will also have its new home there.
