Alaska's Prince of Wales Island

November 1, 2006 By: Marshall Cutchin

“Five days on northern Prince of Wales had us catching pinks and brilliantly colored Dolly Varden, a sea-run version of brook trout. The best fly turned out to be no fly at all, but rather a plastic, pale-orange bead pegged 2 inches above a small (size 8 or 10) bare hook.” Dave Buchanan talks about history, ecology and fly fishing on Prince of Wales Island in southeasternmost Alaska in the Grand Junction, Colorado Daily Sentinel.
