Author Carl Hiassen Wins All-Tackle Tournament With Fly Rod

Carl Hiassen once again proved that flly rods — in the right hands — can be more effective than bait. Hiassen won the 40th annual Islamorada All-Tackle Bonefish Tournament in Islamorada this past week, fishing with guide Tim Klein. “Hiaasen, a popular author and ‘Miami Herald’ columnist, scored 17 releases and four weight fish, all caught on fly.
