More and More Women Fly Fishing

Raspberry, turquoise and hot pink are relatively new colors for fly fishing equipment manufacturers, but don’t be surprised if you see more feminine colors on the water. According to this piece by the Associated Press’s Pat Graham, the number of female fly fishers in the U.S. is 3.5 million and growing. “Standing on a rock outcropping that juts into Officer’s Gulch Lake, Char Bloom resembled an orchestra conductor the moment before a concert. Instead of lifting a wand, though, she waved a fly fishing rod.”
