Hancock, Livingston Manor Devastated by Recent Floods

July 2, 2006 By: Marshall Cutchin

“The Town of Hancock calls itself ‘the gateway to the Delaware River,’ and for good reason. The town sits at the confluence of the river’s east and west branches and is prime fly-fishing territory.” Like many others, this small town in the heart of Catskill fly fishing country is still isolated days after flooding began. Fernanda Santos in The New York Times.
Meanwile Livingston Manor, home of Joan Wulff and Royal Wulff products, has seen its worst flooding in memory. “The overflowing Cattail Brook in Livingston Manor, N.Y., suddenly swept one house entirely away. Officials said a 16-year-old girl was in the house, and is missing and presumed dead.” Maria Newman and Gary Gately.
