Fly Fisher Drowns in Famed Catskill Pool

Where the Beaverkill and Willowemoc meet at Roscoe, one of the better-known-pools in this famous fishery — the Junction Pool — claimed the life of a 44-year-old fly fisher yesterday as he tried to cross it to join up with friends. “Trooper Michael Schroeder said that while people often cross either river safely by backing away from the pool first, it appears that Everrett attempted to wade across too near the pool. When he fell, the current pulled him under.” Apparently the angler was wearing chest waders, which filled with water. Melissa Rennie in New York’s Times Herald-Record.
