Inshore Nets: Getting With the Program

January 2, 2006 By: Marshall Cutchin

If there’s one thing that inshore net bans have proved in Florida and Texas in the last 15-20 years, it is that they have a enormously positive impact on fish stocks and fishing. That’s why it’s time for North Carolina and other states without net bans to get with the program. Individuals like Captain Gordon Churchill in North Carolina are taking to the press with calls for action, and we encourage others to join in the effort. You can read Capt. Churchill’s recent opinion piece in the North Carolina News & Observer here. (Thanks to reader Lee Dunn for this link.)
