More Good News for Maine's Kennebec
Scientists think the 5 years since the removal of a major dam at the river’s head of tide is enough time to allow for the restoration to show its effects. “Alewives have returned in untold millions, shad once again spawn in the free-flowing reaches near Waterville, and striped bass provide a sport fishing opportunity that hasn’t existed in central Maine for more than 150 years.” Dave Sherwood in the Portland Press Herald.
