David Westby is legendary in Belize for his skills in bonefish and permit fishing guiding. In this article by Joe Doggett, he offers several interesting and thought-provoking tips for saltwater fly fishers, among them: “Use a sidearm cast whenever possible on shallow fish under high-visibility conditions.” And: “Cast as close as possible to a tailing fish.
